As I was reading this section this morning I noticed around verses 6 or 7 that this section was all about the fool. The fool needs correction, frustrates and destroys the works of others, lacks wisdom, wounds his employers, and continues to repeat this folly.
Yet after this description of consequences for the fool the author tells us that it is even worse for those who are wise in their own eyes. This is a powerful warning for humility. If we think too highly of our own wisdom we are worse off that that aforementioned fool who destroys himself and others.
